About Me
Marcus Whiters-Tankard – Minister of the Word, Praise and Worship Leader, Vocal Coach, Pianist, Author – there is no word that adequately describes this man and his ministry. Marcus began his spiritual journey at a very young age. From playing the piano and singing in church as a kid, to working with groups and choirs in Southeast Alabama, he has always been heavily involved in music ministry.
In 2002, Marcus' desire to use his musical talents for the Lord led him to Murfreesboro, Tennessee where he helped his father, Ben Tankard, pioneer a thriving church in the Nashville suburb. Marcus served as Minister of Music, Assistant Youth Pastor, and led numerous prayer groups while attending The Destiny Center.
During the spring of 2005, the Lord instructed Marcus to relocate to Tulsa, Oklahoma to attend Rhema Bible Training Center. While attending Rhema, Marcus served as the organist for Rhema Bible Church and he worked closely with Leigh Ann Merrell in the Prayer and Healing School. It was at this time that Marcus founded Guy's Music School. GMS is designed to teach singers and musicians how to use their talents to glorify God by leading people in heartfelt worship.
